The Personas - New Roscoe, Leeds September 2008

The band consists of 4 members who describe themselves as "not a group of young good looking rock stars", this fact maybe true but it was soon evident that the group (2 guitarists, 1 bassist and 1 drummer) were hitting the right notes when it came to performing.  They worked well together as a band considering the age range of the group and the fact that they were only playing to a small crowd.  Their one and only set consisted mainly of their own material, with only one cover, but their song writing capabilities equally matched their musical skill.  The vocals were clear and precise and despite a couple of minor musical timing errors it all flowed really nicely.

It was the first time the band had played the Leeds scene but they are hoping to attract more followers from this area.  I am sure that all it will take is a couple of gigs performing like the way they did on this one and they should have a decent foothold into the music pubs within Leeds.

I look forward to seeing them play a full set and then we will be able to write a more balanced view of what these guys can do, it must be hard playing to only a handful of people having initially being advertised as being part of a full line up of bands, when in reality only two bands turned up out of the initial four that were due to perform.
