It's been a while since I last visited the Irish Centre in Leeds but it
is a good venue for live music and on this particular night there were 3
bands playing. The main band playing were The Po Boys with
Undercover and 2 Clicks supporting.
This
review is for 2 Clicks who are a 4 piece group of 15/16 year olds but
don't let their ages fool you. Right from the start it was obvious that
these guys could certainly play and showed no signs of nerves
considering this was only their second time playing live in front of a
large audience and the band had only been together since the Summer.
The band
consisted of a drummer, bassist, guitarist and the lead singer who also
played guitar. Their style of music was rock which suited them and they
covered songs by bands such as The Foo Fighters and Nickleback. The
crowd was very enthusiastic and consisted of a wide range of ages
although there was a group which I believe were friends from their
school/ college who cheered the lads on and it was well deserved. The
lead singer had a voice suited for rock songs and even managed to
converse with the audience after the first couple of songs, once the
nerves had settled down a bit. They played pretty much none stop for 45
minutes and you could tell that they enjoyed themselves too. If this is
what the boys can produce after only the second gig then we better watch
out for them in the future.
